| I hope you don't mind me being a little self indulgent. After a long illness...The Oldsubbuteo community lost a good friend on Saturday evening. Roberto was a founding member of the Italian Oldsubbuteo community and epitomised the spirit that we all love. He will be sorely missed. Last Thursday he travelled to his OSC to play his final games of Subbuteo. He spent last week doing the things he enjoyed the most. Being with friends and family, taking walks in the Countryside and meeting with friends to play Subbuteo. I thought it would be nice to remember him, with some photos. Showing him happy and enjoying life. RIP Roberto | |

| Yes lads...it is so sad. It was horrible to watch him suffering. There is a tribute to Roberto on the Oldsubbuteoforum.it it's already 18 pages long. His funeral was on Monday, and attended by many Oldsubbuteo friends, who travelled from all over the Country to be with him. A great loss... | |

| Ian, it shows that after all is said and done, we are all brothers. Subbuteo brought us together and made us friends. That is one of the countless things I love about this wonderful hobby. Forget for a moment the joy you get from playing the game or painting up a team. The friendships and bonds we have are as close as those of a family. Or at least, that is how I see it So it does not in the least surprise me that guys travelled from all over Italy to be with our brother. Just amazing and so wonderful | |

We all have a common bond, and when we lose someone it hurts. I'm playing in an Oldsubbuteo Tournement in Milan this weekend. I know it will be very emotional. I well up and have a knot in my throat everytime i see pics of Roberto or speak about him. He was such a great guy, and reading everyones thoughts is so moving. We are very lucky to have all met through this great hobby.

| Roberto was a great person and a great player and passionated of Subbuteo as well, he was a brother to me and to a lot of Old Subbuteo players in Italy.
He will be truly missed.
Under his jacket we put a Juventus and Bologna special hw (his two favourite teams), so he can keep playing whenever he wants..

| Roberto was the first person I played in Italy in a Reggio Emilia tornament in 2007. (I used the Chelsea team I had when I was 6 yrs old). He beat me 1-0, but all I really remember from the game was his feeling of excitement that he was playing his first Englishman, who was playing with an old HW Chelsea team... On the other times I met him, he always brought a warmth and enthusiasm to whoever he spoke with. An authentic oldsubbuteo spirit....and the spirit lives on. | |
