It's not that far removed from offering far more bonus points for predicting a result correctly. Then it's just pot luck whether you get it right in the normal list of fixtures, or the bonus fixtures.

I was never really a fan of the massive bonuses on offer every now and then last year. I only really won last years competition as a result of one great day in nine months. Gully should have been crowned on merit. It seemed a bit crazy to me that anybody could still win at the death, even though they were miles behind. A bit like shouting next goal wins, when one team is 7-0 up. Everything you had done before was almost irrelevant.



Anyway, the GOAL RUSH is still a form of prediction, and does provide that lifeline back, should you start to get left behind. Get a couple of those in the bag and you're flying back up the league.

Don't despair, Jon. Once you and Spud finally get a GOAL RUSH right, you'll feel differently. Trust me. Even I was starting to think it was a crap idea, until I got one up the other week!

Just had a quick calculate, Ian. League wouldn't look so different without it.

You would jump above John Phillips and I, but the rest of the league positions would be the same.

now you are being too modest steve. i mean i was so far behind everyone that even if i got every result right on the last day i was wel out of it.you were up there most of the time.

i felt it added excitement and after all its only a bit of fun.

whatever the rules anyway we all have the same rules and the same chance to bring it on. i KNOW i can still win this!

I am well chuffed with this but I have to admit that some of my predictions were based more on guesswork rather than on team form.
