Fouls & Free Kicks Empty
PostSubject: Fouls & Free Kicks   Fouls & Free Kicks EmptySun Jun 12, 2011 7:38 am

1. A foul is committed when a figure hits another figure ( from either team ) before touching the ball, even when it represents a defensive blocking flick

IN-DIRECT FREE KICK outside the shooting zone, DIRECT FREE KICK inside the shooting zone, and a PENALTY inside the penalty area

2. If a figure touches another figure but does not touch the ball, it is a change of possession with a 'back' if demanded

3. If the ball touches any figure that is lying down, a foul is committed

4. FREE KICK procedure ...

Place the ball

Select the taker

If it is a DIRECT FREE KICK the defender is allowed to make a 4 figure wall

Attacker then makes 2 positional flicks

Defender then counters with 2 positional flicks

Apparently, it is a foul to obstruct or hinder a player and his flick, although it almost seems impossible to police without any clarification.

This has been a problem for me in a few games, not being able to make a block flick with a figure because of obstruction ( unable to see the play, or unable to make the play )

I think it might be a good idea to introduce an 'obstruction' call, suspending play to allow the defender time to take a blocking flick after the attacking flick, only in cases where both players are on the same side of the table, and one is bossing the space.

To be honest, I think there is a conduct of sorts in the Old Subbuteo community, where players do not seek to gain advantage through somebody else's disadvantage. Not intentionally, that is. But it might be an idea to have something in type.

What do 'the people' think?
