A couple of years ago you were lucky to get anything under £15-£20 that didn't have reglues. Maybe partly the recession, last week i got a complete 1981 Panini album in perfect condition plus an incomplete 1982 for £16.

I'll be out of the house when they come through, so won't feel the pain until later For a HW138 to go for less than £20 is plain wrong.I have been starting all my references at £4.99, though within tonight's batch I have used the start price of £14.99 for the more common teams. If they sell, they sell, if not ...... there's tomorrow Bargains are definitely there to be had, but given the prices that modern replica teams go for, surely an original HW Team in its original (sometimes stickered) box, with no breaks and minimal paintwear is worth at least £14.99 - even at the 'common' end of the scale?!

Given the fact that the HW147 is one of the most rare teams in the sequence of French teams around it (possibly second only to HW144), I would be expecting at least £150 for it. Was this the one you purchased at the Fair last week? If so, it looked in mint condition - and deserved to attract a queue of serious bidders.

| i start my auctions at £4.99 as well i think i might follow Ian`s option of £14.99 starting price, so if a common ref sell`s for that at least i would feel like i have not given the team away | |

Jon
Sold a reffed HW94 recently for small-ish money too. An indicator that there are still guys coming into HW Collecting for the first time, and don't know what's really valuable and what's not. The HW92 is excellent - well done!

| thanks ian. the one i had i got in a job lot and have had for for a couple of years thinking it kosher. only when i got the magnifying glass on it for the first time recently i could see feint painted numbers under the back of the shirts colour blue!argh!!doh! thankfully it didnt cost me the usual arm and a leg as it came in a lot but even so i did have to have a sit down and a cup of tea! lee - i reckon with common teams in good nick there is more value potentially in only doing face to face sales. ie, on ebay sometimes you cannot see how good a condition a team/box is and therefore its true worth cannot be realised. face to face may earn you more for good nick common stuff. just a thought. | |
