| Don't know whether anyone has seen this before, but stumbled on it when clearing out some box's.

| Lee it's from Subbuteo Club magazine from 2004. Issue 1. There are a couple good articles in it. Lloydie is a mind of information on Subbuteo. He's debunked many a theory for me. A good lad to talk to. There was some really interesting stuff painted by SSG, that not many of us know about. He told me about the Roy of the Rovers teams done on HW that were given out to Club members...he remembers then piled up in the offices at SSG, amongst others. Some more articles...although i can add myself, from the last photo, taken from the Italian 85/86, that photo evidence shows HP HW's right up to ref 560. So who knows what's out there. | |

| That 560 in the catalogue on HW figure is a completely weird paintjob (557 isn't far behind).
If either of these appeared in this condition on ebay, we'd be crying "repaint"!!

| There are some real odd one's mate. Look at some of the HP LW's. The ref 565 with purple shirt and socks is like nothing else in English catalogues. Most of the teams on that page weren't introduced until late 1984. You can see quiet a few HP LW's that look nothing like the mp versions. So they were still painting in 1984 in Italy. Nothing suprises me now Ian. So many 'set in stone' theories get thrown out the window with stuff like this. An afternoon speaking to Paul Lloyd is also an eye opener. He laughs at half the stuff written on Subbuteo forums. The HP LW ref 401 and 484's are beauts... | |

Really an interesting reading...above all for the interview, and i make my apologies if i ask, but do you know who's the guy who's answering to the questions? Hi mate... Good to hear from you. His name is David Morrison Wilpred. He was a Sales rep for Newfooty then worked 20 years for SSG, originally as a Rep then as Sales Director. Here is a bit more...

| excellent stuff Ian i would have liked to be a sales rep for subbuteo ,would be far more interesting and fun than trying to sell someone tiles for their contracts | |

| I bought all my Subbuteo from a local sports shop called 'Sportscene' as a child. I can still remember the window display next to the cricket bats. | |
