never ever seen brown bases Shocked
was this possibly the rarest base colour

Probably a mistake in colouring a claret base me thinks...remember we are talking about the 70's here. Many plasic production issues.

I have it on good authority that Yellow bases, were the most expensive and hardest to create back then.

I picked up these bases in a job lot ages ago (already stripped down). They might look a bit claret in the picture but in the flesh (and next to a claret base) they are more brown in colour.

I reckon they're either poorly produced, or had too much oven cleaner
