| Really enjoying the RETRO game, and for the want of additional fixes, I thought I would just try and measure any interest in a RETRO 6's tournament?
Unfortunately for the absolute purists, I cannot buy authentic baizes to play games on, so I would buy half size ASTROs.
I quite like the idea of a 70s theme, and perhaps the painted teams could comprise of 1 keeper, 5 home figures and 5 away figures ( just in case there is a colour clash in a fixture )?
I would print off match day programmes with scorecard?
No trophies for the overall winners, but every player would get a medal?
Corners could count in matches where the scores are level?
Not sure whether to steer away from normal ball size, and maybe go big or small? Happy to go with the most popular idea.
Would my fellow flickers be interested in supporting / attending, or should I go back to the drawing board?

| Actually, I have just been to the Flickmaster site, and see they still do 6's pitches. That might be a better compromise, provided I can get some? So often read on these forums, that it's near impossible to get any kind of response from the company? http://www.flickmaster.com/english/pitch3.htm | |

| Mark Parker...Mr Santiago sells 5/6 a side pitches made of baize/felt mate. http://santiagotablesoccer.piczo.com/santiagopitches?cr=1&linkvar=000044Pretty cheap too. Even cheaper is if you make them yourself. I've made them in the past. Really easy...Rolls of felt off ebay, cut to size and mark out with white felt pen or grout whitening pen. Use a plate or something similar to mark out the semi circle...simples. I like the idea of a programme. Nice to fill in all the results as you go along and have as a memento to read in the future. Nice touch. | |

| Thought it would be nice to send 'invitation cards' too, Ian, for the same reason. | |

| Thanks for the pitch tip. I see that Barcode Table Football also do cloth pitches.

| I did the beach pitch on felt, Ian, but kinda wished I had gone with a 100% cotton sheet, as the green pitches used to be exactly that. Could double layer it for a softer feel? | |

| Steve
I have got a Mina ( Astro type) six-a-side pitch, mounted on MDF, I have also got the small metal goals that go with the pitch, which is approx 1m. x 70cm.
I know that Astro is possibly not your preferred surface ( Don't even mention it to Jim !!! )
If it would be of any use, let me know

| Thanks, John. That's very kind of you. Could you be persuaded to flick 6's, JP? Only John Devaney's expressed an interest in actually playing so far.

Depends when and where Steve, I am about as reliable as the weather when saying I'll play in events, but if I can I will

| No problem, fella.
Only three players have expressed any kind of interest in the idea, so it's obviously not something that's firing the imagination of the collective.
