| Dear All,
Back in the eighties, can anyone remember Subbuteo creating a thing that looked like a slide for taking goal kicks!
I don't think I imagined it!!!

| I've just found it!!! Its on Subbuteo World's site
It seems I cannot post a link yet.
I thought it was for taking goal kicks. Is that legal?!
If you can use it for throw in, and free kicks it should be?

| Does it make more sense to use the corner kicker to propel the ball up the chute Foxy?
Corner kickers are only any good if you use the base of the corner flag with them i find.

| I found I could only get consistent results with the chute by also using the corner kicker. But I could get just as good corners just using the kicker so I don't use the chute much. Foxy will probably say I just need more practice I think these things should be used as there is still a lot of skill required. There's no greater sight than when a lofted ball actually gets headed home | |

| Thank you all again. You see I wasn't sure if I imagined it, but its real alright - but is it legal for use with a goal kick!
When faced with a packed defence it could be useful!!!
Did anyone ever use the bouncing balls!!! The first time I used them once again back in the eighties the thing took off out the room!!
Its probably still bouncing along somewhere.....

| When there is a goalkick Ray, you get to replace all the figures into position. The chances of not being able to kick the ball out are very remote, as players have to be a certain distance apart when placed. When you say 'is it legal', do you mean in 'official' comps? If so...then no. But if playing for fun...which we do often...then you can pretty much do as you want. As certain players will tell you...there is always a strong prevailing wind when i'm playing at corners... | |

| Dear Spud,
Haha. Possible another innovation much needed in the game are changing weather conditions - I don't even think Steve could come up with that one - does the Stade De Fingers have undersoil heating!
Sprinklers are possible I suppose - but snow would be difficult!
If Jim could bring along his longball device that would be most welcome!!!
Thank you again!!!

Hopefully you'll get a chance to play on it.
It truely is the Holy Grail of Subbuteo Stadiums.

As certain players will tell you...there is always a strong prevailing wind when i'm playing at corners... Remember it well mate Re the ball raising chute I've only used it at free-kicks , you've got to have the figure close to the ball and the ball tight to the chute , if you know what I mean .For corner kicks , just the corner kicker is all I use , if you catch it right you can loft it into a packed goal-mouth and as Gully says 'tis a pretty spectacular moment when the ball is nodded in , mind you I score more goals from throw-ins this way than from corners , using the later France '98 throw in figure though NOT the sprung one , although they are a right laugh

| Thanks Jim, I shall look forward to using it, if you can bring it along. Its great when a player gets his head to the ball. My other favourites are the double touch. I remember once with the ball on the goal line a player came back after the shot and tapped it in.
My next favourite is the inswinger! Which have become a bit easier with the new bases - the lift on them is amazing!
So what about the bouncing ball - I still have two left - are they still legal!
That ball with the chute could cause chaos!!!
