i got a phone call today from a subbuteo enthusiast called Ian Pusey who is from yateley.

some of you who have been to the maidenhead fairs may recall him turning up in 2010 with his wife.middle aged guy with grey hair and a beard.

ian has just taken a job at the WRVS centre in maidenhead.He basically runs their community type hall which has a small cafe and a really nice wooden floored hall area with a stage and he had my number so he called me on the off chance about maybe switching the maidenhead fair to his venue in 2014 which i will almost certainly do.

As an aside i mentioned the possibility of lionhearts moving there as simply a much better venue.its better lit and well maintained and has enough car parking spaces currently for about 12 cars so it would work for lionhearts for sure.

i wanted to put it to the vote that we move there as of the february meet.the financial deal is the same as we have at bracknell but we would get a vastly better venue for our money with better lighting and it does not have that slightly depresssing run down feeling you get with bracknell.

i know this is even more convenient for me and less so for maybe some of you but overall i think you will find it more to your liking.

so can please on these pages let me know "yes" or a "no" to the new place. i can assure you that you wont be disappointed.

its pretty much next door to Maidenhead United FC's ground in the centre of maidenhead about 2 mins walk from the BR station.

Bracknell FC is a nice venue, but in terms of location, Maidenhead would be better for me, especially somewhere near the town centre.

I'm going to North Wales for the half term week before. Might be back before the 17th. Just depends on when we decide to head home really. So I'm officially a 'maybe' Jon.

I am happy with new venue Jon as we discussed last night.will text you regarding sunday on saturday depending on the situation

Maidenhead versus Bracknell doesn't make much difference to me travel-wise and so I am fine with the move and perhaps we won't have to clean up after so many parties like at the Bracknell venue.
